SAVING WILD SPACES
Saving Wild Spaces is a land conservancy and grief advocacy group located in the heart of the natural world. We are a mission driven organization, accomplishing our goals by partnering with progressive businesses, other non-profits, activists, philanthropists and local communities. Together we envision a world where decisions at the end of life can allow a legacy that includes saving land and a community that fully supports those walking the path of grief.
SWS provides assistance to the grieving in a multitude of ways:
grief buddy or volunteer support for 40 days after a loved one has passed
meals to the bereaved
nature therapy hikes
grief support groups
educating the greater community about how we can better support the grieving
All land preserved by Saving Wild Spaces will be open for public enjoyment.
But first things first....we need a forest, not just any forest.
Save Brewery Creek!!!
Saving Wild Spaces is pursuing a purchase of a location just minutes away from Traverse City at the base of Leelanau County. This 87 acre parcel, home to mature trees, glacial hills, stunning views ,and the famous Brewery Creek may be developed if not purchased and protected. We are hosting a capital campaign to raise the funds needed to purchase this location and preserve it in perpetuity for grieving families and the public at large.
