TEACH FOR UGANDA
Teach For Uganda is a locally rooted and globally informed leadership development organization in Uganda. Teach For Uganda’s mission is to nurture leaders who are committed to advancing equitable quality education in low income communities. Teach For Uganda runs a multi-pronged approach aimed at transforming the education ecosystem to make it more equitable and inclusive for all children in Uganda.
TFU leverages the power and knowledge of promising future leaders to support the mission of ensuring equitable access to quality education for all children to thrive in a changing world. Through the TFU 2 year Fellowship, top University graduates are recruited and trained. These young professionals are from all academic disciplines and are empowered to become full time teacher leaders. The fellows are placed in high low income communities and underserved government schools to drastically improve learning outcomes for children from primary one to primary three.
Teach For Uganda has partnered with Squaring The Education Pyramid Institute (STEPi), a literacy program of Utopia Foundation. Through STEPi books and resources, Teach For Uganda together with Utopia Foundation has embarked on a partnership that will empower the TFU fellows and teachers with STEPi resources and interactive training and workshops. The partnership is also aimed at creatively engaging and stimulating children’s learning and promoting a positive reading culture among children.
